Refractometer Correction Calculator

Choose your instrument, enter the original and current refractometer readings, and calculate alcohol-corrected gravity, estimated ABV, and attenuation.

1. Choose your refractometer

2. Enter your readings

Take this reading after chilling and before fermentation begins.
This must be the raw refractometer reading—not a Tilt, hydrometer, or density-meter SG.
Standard mode: the calculator applies a fixed wort correction factor of 1.040 before alcohol correction.

Calculator Notes

Standard mode uses a fixed WCF of 1.040. SmartRef mode uses a fixed WCF of 1.030.

When SG is selected, the value must be the instrument’s refractometer SG scale. A Tilt, hydrometer, EasyDens, or other true-density reading should not be alcohol-corrected here.

For the most dependable result, enter the raw °Brix reading whenever your instrument provides it. Refractometer final gravity remains an estimate and is best confirmed periodically against a trusted hydrometer or density meter.
